Ukrainian Archbishop Borys Gudziak, the Pesident of the Ukrainian Catholic University, a visionary leader in the Catholic Church and higher education, will be presented with the Notre Dame Award in a ceremony June 29 in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., announced Monday (May 6).

Implications of the Evangelical text of Luke 10:1-12 for the peacebuilding in Nigeria was the topic of the master’s thesis of Rev. Olisaemeka Oranebo, which he officially defended on February 28.

The delegation of the Catholic University of Leuven, presented by Dr. Peter de Mey and Dr. Annemarie Mayer, visited the Ukrainian Catholic University. Prof. Mayer, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, KU Leuven, conducted a lecture for the DLMPES’ students on “The Ecumenical vision of Pope Francis”.

On Monday, January 22, Institute of Ecumenical Studies organized a traditional prayer for the unity of Christians and peace in Ukraine in the Сhapel of the Philosophical and Theological Faculty of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

Online Master’s defense of two DLMPES’ students was successfully held on September 29 at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.

The official online master’s defense in the frame of the Distance Learning Master’s Program in Ecumenical Studies was held on April 6 at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.

Fr Laurent Cleenewerck a faculty member of the Institute of Ecumenical Studies, an academic and theologian, serving as professor of international administration and theology for EUCLID (Euclid University), rector and ordained priest of St Innocent Orthodox Church in Eureka, had an online lecture for the DLMPES’ students.

An online lecture with Fr. Dr. Oleh Kindiy, professor of the Ukrainian Catholic University, was held on March 9, 2017. In the frame of his course Survey of the Eastern Christian Tradition at DLMPES Fr Oleh raised one of the fundamental theme for the Eastern theology “Paradosis: The Eastern Orthodox Understanding of Tradition”.
